Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. In her early years, she went to the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma had a dream to become an actor when she was just six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy that offers part-time classes. At the age of 10, she had appeared and played part in many Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama teacher. After eight consecutive auditions, the producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast to play the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut on screen was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in 2001. It was the year's top production, and it broke records on opening day and the very first weekend. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film as well as the performance by three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British publication, described Emma's acting "amazing". Emma's performance was recognized and was awarded five awards in the film.
